(Continuing from Part 1)

Zinzolin was supervising the work of the grunts outside of the studio as he suddenly heard shouting and sounds of fighting screeching Pokémon coming from inside the studio. He could see a single grunt open the double doors of the studio as he set free two panicking grunt Zubats flying out of the door. The grunt tripped as he was pulled back inside of the building by an unseen entity behind the door.

“IT’S NA-“

WAMM!!!, the door slammed shut on the man in dark Plasma uniform before he could finish his warning to the leader. The purple dressed sage leader immediately called the cavalry stating he has found Nate and is currently readying a frontal assault.

“Plasma! Get over here and ready yourselves to search and destroy!”

Inside, Hugh was busy using the ropes the grunts used to bound the employees and visitors and aggressively tying up the defeated grunts. He would not care about their comfort as he would usually smack them against their heads with their uniform head pieces removed. As he tied them he muttered hateful words towards the grunts and their alliance with the foe.

Nate and Rosa lead the employees and visitors to the filming studio where they would be safer from further possible attacks and battles. Among the Pokémon the civilians had with them, the same Riolu had revealed itself again recognizing Nate as Riolu Kid. He looked up at his red mask from where he was with the other studio Pokémon and jumped towards the boy.

Nate and Rosa had already left the filming room as they returned to the lobby still dressed in their hero costumes. Riolu still followed the two as Zorua Girl’s Zorua also emerged out of the scared group of Pokémon to follow the Emanations Pokémon.

“Good job team! I honestly thought they’d give a bigger fight than that…”, Nate said to the combined Pokemon team of four that included his Dewott.

“There’s still many of them left outside Riolu Kid! We must act quickly or we will see this place under the enemy’s control!”

Dewott and Snivy were both ordered to ready themselves for a quick attack outside. Hugh finished tying up the grunts before he regrouped with Nate and Rosa with his Pokémon for the next fight.

“Tepig! Flame Charge!”

The doors swung open as the Fire Pig Pokemon ran forward into the group of Plasma Grunts and their opposing Pokémon.

“AHH!! FIRE!!!”, one of the grunts shouted as the flames of the charging Fire type caught onto him.

The grunt Pokémon, which consisted of Liepard and Pawniards, scattered as their grunts broke formation when the Tepig charged into them in a swift fiery ball. The grunt Pokémon were then attacked all at once by Dewott, Snivy, and Elekid following the cleared trail set by the Fire Pig Pokémon.

The two heroes and the trainer rushed out of the double doors to see their Pokémon struggling with the enemies.

“Snivy! Vine Whip on that Liepard!”, Zorua Girl shouted.

“Elekid! Thundershock! Tepig! Flame Charge at that Pawniard!”, Hugh commanded.

As their Pokemon fought the Liepard and the Pawniards, Dewott awaited Nate’s orders as he was defensively positioned next to his trainer awaiting his orders. Nate noticed the grunt that was caught on fire from Tepig’s Flame Charge and immediately thought he should do something about it.

“Dewott! Put out that flame! Use Aqua Jet!”

In an instant, the blue water type Pokémon propelled itself in a rocket of water at the panicking grunt. He tackled him to the ground and drenched him in water in the process, putting out the flames on his uniform. Dewott jumped off of the grunt’s drenched chest and returned to the fight as the exhausted grunt with the singed uniform expressed his appreciation as he surrendered by staying on the ground.

“Thanks mate… Heh...”

The sage in the purple elegant attire grew furious at the incompetence of the grunts. He observed how the area of effect of the Pokémon of the heroes had as their Liepards and Pawniwards were sustained the mega barrage of faith-induced critical blows. He barked a new set of orders at the struggling grunts who kept ordering their Pokémon to defend themselves.

“Spread out! Hide yourselves and recover! Wait for back up!”

With that being said, he sent out his Cryogonal and immediately ordered it to cover the area in a cold thick mist. Nate, Rosa, and Hugh watched as the grunts retreat in the almost immediate fog. The adversaries of their Pokémon had disappeared into cover with their corrupted trainers.

“Zorua Girl. They are weakened! We must finish them off now!”, Nate said to the girl dressed in the dark heroine suit as he still kept in character.

“Be vigilant Riolu Kid! It may be a trap.”, Rosa replied also staying in character.

Hugh rolled his eyes at their continued act. He then commanded his Pokémon with determination in his action before he disappeared into the fog after the grunts.

“Tepig! Elekid! Come with me! We’re going on a grunt hunt!”

Nate and Rosa watched him run into the mist with his Pokémon. The girl in the dark heroine costume wasn’t sure if this was the best course of action.

“Let’s split up! We’ll quickly finish off the bad guys one by one as they’re still recovering! If you need help just yell! Dewott! Let’s go!”, Nate immediately assumed the best course of action with confidence as he continued to play the part of Riolu Kid with enthusiasm.

“Okay, don’t do anything reckless now.”, Rosa replied briefly out of character.

Nate ran into the mist on his own, leaving Rosa and Snivy alone at the portion of the lot in front of the filming studios. His boost of confidence and courage defended him from the natural fear that would have been inflicted to him if it were not for his acting as a real super hero.

“Dewott! Let’s knock em out!”, he said to Dewott as he dashed into the mist around parked trailers.

The Discipline Pokémon ran with his trainer as they searched the fog for recovering grunts. It did not take long for them to meet their first grunt healing his Liepard with a Super Potion.

“There you are. Surrender or fight!”, Riolu Kid said to the Plasma Grunt kneeling next to his singed Liepard.

The grunt had a worried look on his face as he could see his Dewott readying his Scalchops. In a small burst of frustration he said to him before his Pokémon was finished off with a quick Aqua Jet attack.

“Gagh Nate! Who are you trying to fool with that get up?”

“Nobody. Heheh.”, Nate replied with a chuckle before he forced the grunt into the empty trailer he was hiding next to.

The man in the Plasma uniform was thrown against the floor of the small trailer with his fainted Liepard thrown on top of him. Nate warmed him not to come back out until the fight is over. Feeling victorious, he slammed the door on the pawn as he rushed with Dewott to find more grunts.

He could hear Hugh shouting orders at his own Pokémon as he apparently discovered a grunt somewhere in the courtyard. He was already at the entrance of the studio lot when he discovered another grunt hiding under a tree with a fully healed Pawniard.

“You there! Surrender yourself!”

The grunt stood up and responded with an angry tone at the boy with the yellow cape.

“You’re going to pay for locking me in that freezer back in Aspertia City! Pawniard! Metal Claw!”

Nate couldn’t help but laugh at the realization that it was the same grunt he trapped in the freezer in the hospital cafeteria of the Pokémon Center in Aspertia City. He stopped expressing his amusement when his Dewott was slashed by Pawniard’s metal scythes. The Discipline Pokémon jumped back and pressed his paws against the wound on his head before he looked back at Nate with an impatient expression.

“Oh… Dewott! Use Razor Shell! Full force!”

The Water type took out its Scalchops in both of its paws and valiantly slashed back at the Dark and Steel type Pokémon as the shells exuded water out of its sharp edges.

The two Pokémon took turns slashing at each other as the grunt and the hero barked their orders at their Pokémon. The Pawniard then used Slash on Dewott and knocked it out in a lucky critical hit. Nate stood looking at his downed Pokémon in shock and sudden realization that he’s vulnerable without his only Pokémon.

“R-Return Dewott!”

The boy recalled the Pokémon back into its ball. He looked to see the grunt smiling maliciously at how the tables have turned since their last encounter. Riolu Kid suddenly felt his confidence melt away.

“Hahaha!! Time for some payback! Don’t worry, I’ll let you live long enough to see what our leader has in store for you. Traitor! Pawniard! Slash!”

Nate braced himself within the mist as the red iron clad Pokémon charged at him. If he had kept his eyes open, he would have seen the Riolu from the studio block the attack and use Force Palm on the Steel and Dark Type Pokémon.

The Pawniard shouted a cry of pain before it fainted to the immense amount of damaged inflicted on it from the Fighting type attack. Riolu stood before between the shocked grunt and the cringing masked boy. Riolu turned to look at the hero with a smile as he slowly opened his eyes to see what stopped the Pawniard from dicing him into pieces.

“….Riolu? Riolu!! Wow am I glad to see you here!”

The blue Pokémon nodded at him before he faced the grunt who was angrily shouting at the hero suited boy who had a smug smile on his face.

“YOU FILTHY PIECE OF FILTH NATE!! URRGGhhh I’ll have my revenge on you just you wait! I don’t regret those times I picked on you back in the ship at all! You deserve EVERY bit of HATE!!

The grunt quickly returned his Pawniard and ran out of the studio gates back into the Virbank City streets. Nate let him go as he was didn’t want to have to deal with a potential scuffle with a sore loser of a pawn.

Riolu stood by Nate as he sent out his Dewott to revive with his Revive medicine he pulled out of the heroic costume’s pockets. He took the liberty of stuffing his pockets with berries and medicine Rosa shared with him before they started their initial battle in the studio lobby.

He used the Revive on Dewott before it was instantly consumed by the blue furry Water type. The Discipline Pokemon jumped up and landed on its feet with his scalchops ready for battle for his trainer again. Dewott instantly saw Riolu standing next to Nate and mistook it for a threat.

“Hold it Dewott! Riolu is on our side!”, the boy explained to his only Pokémon he had since his childhood.

Dewott froze in place with his scalchops about to slash at the stunned wide eyed Riolu. He withdrew himself and ignored the existence of the Emanations Pokémon as he stood by Nate’s right side in a defensive stance ready for his new orders. Riolu looked back at Nate with a slightly confused look.

“He’ll warm up to ya don’t worry about it. Let’s go clear the rest of the studio!”

Meanwhile, Rosa was having a difficult fight with Zinzolin in the center of the studio’s courtyard as her Snivy is weak to Cryogonal’s Ice type attacks. She immediately regretted her decision not to try to catch another wild Pokémon to aid her in these inevitable fights. The dark masked girl felt nervous as she watched her first Pokémon tossed around the pavement with repeated shots of Ice Shard before was finally knocked out.

“Snivy return!... Well this is awkward….”, she said out loud to herself as the sage laughed.

“You thought you could beat me when you know I have far more superior Ice type Pokémon? I almost feel sorry for your pet. Now surrender yourself or face your punishment now for your hand in saving the boy’s life! Don’t think I didn’t forget you back in Aspertia City’s Pokémon Center!”, Zinzolin said to her as he stood partially surrounded in the mist.

Rosa was unfazed by his threat. The girl dressed as the dark heroine scolded at the villain with bravery as any other person would have surrendered quietly.

“You should be ashamed of yourself! You and all of Team Plasma should just stop what you’re doing and think for once!! Why are you doing this?!”

Zinzolin didn’t answer his question as he was met with a female grunt coming out of the fog. The antagonist was happy to see a pawn come to his aid.

“Ah there you are Katherine! Dispose of this pest! Take her to the ship and we’ll see what our leader will want to do with her later.”

The grunt stood frozen in silence. She did not respond to her superior’s commands. The elegant purple dressed sage was impatient with her.

“Katherine! Take her to the Plasma Frigate now!!”

Rosa didn’t know what to make of the situation as the grunt suddenly walked behind Zinzolin and instantaneously transformed into the illusion wielding Pokémon Zorua. The Dark type Pokémon immediately jumped on the startled sage’s head and leaped at the Cryogonal with a Sucker Punch attack.

“That grunt was Zorua?!”, Rosa stated in her surprise as the Pokémon continued to beat up the floating Ice Type Pokémon with a barrage of different physical attacks.

Zinzolin was beside himself with anger as he watched his Cryogonal quickly fall to the ground fainted from the repeated Bite attacks from Zorua latching itself to its back. The Tricky Fox Pokemon walked away from the fainted Ice type as it angered the sage even more for it giggled the most sadistic chuckle. Zinzolin quickly expressed his rage at Rosa verbally.

“YOU!! First you destroy the device made specifically for the boy! Now you and your angry snot-nosed brat in red is bringing my grunt squads to their knees! You remind me too much of that girl with the boy two years ago that brought us so much grief!.... You look like her now that I look at you… Nate also looks like that boy too…. How very strange it is to see the resemblance… I should speak to Colress about this matter later… there might be a possibility that….”

Rosa couldn’t make out what the sage was rambling about to himself. She stood and observed him recall his Cryogonal as he slowly retreated into the now gradually fading mist.

Zorua stood by Rosa and looked up at her with a grin. The dark dressed heroine stood and looked down at the dark Pokémon with her hands on her waist as she pondered as to what she should do with her.
She was out of her character the entire time she fought with Zinzolin as she lost her nerve once she encountered him. The dark masked twintailed girl assumed that Zorua only followed her out of the studio because she was dressed as Zorua girl.

“Thanks Zorua… are you going to help me fight Team Plasma?”, she asked with curiosity as could see her reflection on the surface of the Pokémon’s eyes looking back at her.

Zorua barked at her with a smile before it instantly took the illusion of a convincing female Plasma grunt. Zorua’s illusion of a friendly enemy pawn stood in front of her with a grin on its human face.

Rosa felt awkward standing next to the dark uniformed image of a female grunt with that Plasma emblem on her vest. Zorua could see her expression showing that she was still a little uneasy at the sight of her.

The Tricky Fox Pokémon instantly changed into Nate as Riolu Kid. The girl was surprised and almost laughed a little at how the Riolu Kid she sees in front of her was on all fours for a moment like Zorua would normally be. The illusion of the boy stood up and grinned at her with anticipation.

“You could trick them into thinking you’re anybody! … that could definitely be of use to us here… I should heal Snivy before the fog lifts. Zoru-I mean… Riolu Kid heh, keep a look out while I fix Snivy up.”

The dark dressed heroine of the cinema sent out her fainted Snivy and pulled her Pokémon Medkit for a quick-fix recovery. The disguised Zorua watched for potential enemies as the fog lifted only to see a red jacketed boy struggling with a Plasma Grunt who was unique in appearance.

“Could use some help here!”, Hugh said before his Elekid was launched into his gut and knocked the air out of him.

Rosa took a glimpse of Hugh struggling with the seemingly specialized grunt that appeared to wield an electric guitar. The grunt was female with white fine hair to distinguish itself from the other grunts. Her uniform was physically similar to the common grunt with her large boots standing out from the normal attire. She appeared to have just arrived into the battle as her Whirlipede was not singed by Hugh’s Tepig earlier. (Who appears to have fainted and returned to his ball.)

The girl then heard Zinzolin’s voice calling to the grunt before the grunt strummed her guitar and shouted.

“I’M GONNA KNOCK SOME SENSE OUTTA YA!! Whirlipede! Pursuit!”

The Curlipede Pokémon rolled itself out and forcefully tackled Elekid and Hugh as hard as it could. The boy and his Pokémon were sent flying towards the fountain in the center of the studio lot. The two landed in the water with a splash.

Rosa gasped at seeing her childhood friend downed by the mysterious grunt. She couldn’t leave her Snivy without applying the vials of medicine she has for her. Although she was very worried for him, she was relieved to see Hugh stand back up soaking wet clothing.

“Return Elekid, grrghhh…”, Hugh growled as he clutched his arm after recalling his little electric type Pokémon back into its ball.

“Haha! Nothing personal kid!”, the grunt proclaimed as she strummed her guitar to produce an unknown but rather ear pleasing piece of music.

Rosa could hear her sing a few lyrics to her tune that seemed to fill her Pokémon with hype. The Bug and Poison type Pokemon rolled forward into her direction much to her dismay. To make matters worse, her Zorua disappeared from her sight.

“Ah?! Help!!,” she cried out as she could see the wheeling Pokemon rolling towards her in an intimidating rate of revolution.

She closed her eyes as she protectively held her Grass Snake Pokémon. Before the Whirlipede could impact her however, it was immediately halted by the Razor Shell attack of Nate’s Dewott.

The Whirlipede was deflected and knocked back by its trainer’s side as the cinematic hero, Riolu Kid, stood between Zorua Girl and the unique grunt. His Riolu mimicked his pose as Nate kept a his calm stance with his eyes glaring at the female grunt.

“You look impressive boy, but my new boss wants to see you stomped to the ground!”

Dewott stepped forward ready to fight for his trainer. Nate looked at him before he looked back at Riolu to see him nod back at him. He chose the first move as he punched the air in front of him with a closed fist.

“Dewott! Use Aqua Jet!”

The Water Type propelled itself in a jet of water at the enemy’s Pokémon as the grunt played on her electric guitar. She ordered her Whirlipede to use Bug Bite on the Discipline Pokémon after it endured its attack.

Rosa quickly filled her Snivy with Revival Medicine and sprayed her with a Super Potion before she could see her Pokémon spring back to life from its dormant state. She closed her medkit and quickly packed it into her shoulder bag before she stood back up with her Snivy zipping to her side.

“How goes it Nate?”

“Nate?”, Riolu Kid asked her as he was still keeping in character to his outfit.

Rosa looked at him with a slightly unamused look as his Dewott was tossed onto the pavement.

“Let’s stop the act now okay? I’ve had to fight Zinzolin while you were off somewhere without me.”

Nate’s eyes were widened at the realization that he had left her at the mercy of his old former administrator. The thought never occurred to him as he was busy playing the role of the hero outside of the studio. His fake persona as a hero had left him reckless. She could easily have been captured and held prisoner on the frigate or worse. The boy couldn’t help but think of the worst that could have happened to her for his recklessness. She could have been killed like they would have killed him half a week ago.

Rosa watched Nate conflict with his thoughts before the masked twintailed girl noticed his Pokemon was suffering as the Whirlipede bounced on the Dewott’s body against the floor. His Riolu was tugging on the masked boy’s red belt to turn his attention to the battle. Rosa immediately snapped her fingers in front of Nate’s face to snap him out of his small trance.

“Pay attention to your Dewott! We have to finish this fight!”

“Oh! Right! Let’s get em! Dewott! Use Aqua Jet again!”, Nate commanded with confidence as he watched his childhood Pokémon propel himself out of the gap between him and the wheel shaped Pokémon.

“Snivy! Prepare yourself!”, Rosa said to her first Pokémon as she watched the battle unfold.

Riolu still kept by Nate’s side as he could sense Zorua sneaking behind the electric guitar wielding grunt as a common female grunt. The Emanations Pokémon sounded out a battle cry before he proceeded to come to Dewott’s aid with a Force Palm to the Whirlipede.

“Hey!! Two against one isn’t fair!”, the unique grunt shouted at Nate and Rosa in anger.

Before the two could react to being called out as unfair, the grunt sent out all of her Pokémon in her party that consisted of a Koffing, Zubat, and Gloom along with her already sent out Whirlipede.

“If that’s how you’re going to play. We’re going all in!”, she announced before she strummed another tune on her guitar.

“Oh boy…”, Nate expressed his concern at the sight of the Poison type Pokémon that reminded him of his agonizingly painful memory from half a week ago.

“Don’t worry! We’ll give her a good fight!.... Where did Hugh go? If he went back to the Pokémon Center… ughh…”, Rosa expressed her disdain for her childhood friend as it seems he has retreated the Virbank Pokémon Center to heal his team of two Pokémon.

“Snivy! Let’s give it our all! We won’t go down without a fight!”

The Grass Snake Pokemon stood by Dewott’s left side as Riolu stood at his right. The unorganized battle between them and the grunt began with her Koffing and Whirlipede rushing at Snivy with their physical attacks.

Rosa’s Pokémon was defended by Riolu as soon as he saw the coming attack. Riolu blocked the Koffing and the Whirlipede as Dewott proceeded to slash them with a Razor Shell attack. The Poison Gas Pokémon and the Curlipede Pokémon both suffered the injury with Whirlipede suffering more than its team mate.

Koffing regrouped with the enemy’s Zubat and Gloom, leaving Whirlipede fainted in front of Riolu. Whirlipede was immediately recalled into its ball by its trainer who was still strumming her electric guitar but now a little more aggressively.

“Now it’s a triple battle! Zubat! Use Poison Fang on Snivy! Koffing! Use Smog! And Gloom, use Stun Spore!”

The three enemy Pokémon charged at Nate and Rosa’s Pokémon as they released unhealthy particles in the air towards them.

“Snivy! Get out of Koffing’s way and use Vine Whip on Zubat!”, Rosa ordered as she herself moved away from the hazardous air.

Nate made sure not to have himself inflicted with another potentially fatal poison by jumping back away from Koffing’s air. He accidentally inhaled a small amount of Gloom’s Stun Spore but did not feel any of its effects at the current moment.

Riolu was paralyzed with Dewott having been poisoned from Koffing’s gas. On Nate’s word, Dewott rushed at Zubat with his scalchops swinging. Riolu couldn’t move on Nate’s command unfortunately as his paralysis grounded him.

While the Pokémon struggled, a wandering grunt quickly approached the musical grunt from behind her. She immediately noticed the grunt with surprise.

“Huh?! What are you doing?”, she asked the fellow grunt in Plasma uniform.

The pawn did not answer as it came up behind her Gloom and instantaneously revealed itself to be Zorua before it brutally bit at the Grass and Poison type Pokémon from behind. She repeatedly sunk her teeth into the Pokémon’s flower petals. Nate and Rosa were shocked at the sight but not as much as the musical grunt was.

“Ah?!! Gloom!!”, she called out to her Pokémon as the bipedal Weed Pokémon shook itself in its attempt to fling the attacking Dark type off of its back.

Gloom fell flat on its face with its sweet smelling drool oozing out on to the pavement. Zorua ran towards Nate and Rosa’s side with a grin on its dark furry face.

The two cinematically dressed trainers and their Pokémon watched Zorua stand in their side of the conflict. Rosa briefly wondered why Zorua had to leave her when she was healing Snivy before she paid attention to the enemy grunts outbreak of frustration.

“YOU LITTLE CHEATS!!! Gloom return!! You’ll pay for that! Zubat! Poison Fang on Zorua! Koffing! Finish them with Self-Destruct!”

The winged Bat Pokémon zipped into Zorua’s face and bit down on her head. She shook Zubat off of her head as she cried out in pain from the toxins that poisoned her slightly.

Dewott, Snivy, and Riolu were so distracted by Zorua’s cry that they were didn’t pay attention to the floating Poison Gas Pokemon hovering in their air space glowing in preparation to explode.

“Dewott!! Riolu!!”, the caped boy called out to his Pokémon in his attempt to warn them.

“Snivy!! Get out of there!!”, the dark caped girl cried out for her first Pokémon’s safety.

Suddenly, Koffing puffed up and exploded on the spot. Riolu and Snivy were instantly knocked out as they were blown back at their trainers.

Snivy landed at Rosa’s feet fainted from the harsh attack. The twintailed double bun girl held the poor Pokémon as she returned it saftely to her ball.

“Sorry…”, Rosa apologized to her first Pokémon entrusted to her.

Nate picked up the blue Fighting type Pokémon at his feet and held him close to himself. He didn’t have his Poke Ball to recall him back to safety so he kept him close to himself as the battle reached its climax. Despite the Emanation’s Pokémon current state, he couldn’t help but feel so relieved and happy to be held by the boy who is and is dressing as Riolu Kid from the theaters. Nate noticed him looking back at him with his right eye slightly opened with a little grin on his face.

“You did your best. We’ll make it out of this.”

Zorua and Dewott still stood with Dewott barely hanging on to his consciousness. His physical condition and health condition was not good. If Rosa were to rate his health on a bar scale, he would be in the red zone at this current moment. The poison chipped away at his health as he struggled to keep himself up right.

The white haired female grunt wielding her electric guitar shouted as she strummed another epic tune.

“And now for the grand finale! Either you or me! Zubat! Use Quick Attack on Dewott!”, she commanded.

Zubat rushed forward at Dewott and forcefully knocked him over only to reveal it was Zorua disguising herself as Dewott. The Tricky Fox Pokemon let out a small cry before it fainted on the pavement. Rosa and Nate were both surprised to see the spectacle that just unfolded before their eyes.

“Did she just…”

“Nate! Dewott!”, Rosa said redirecting his attention to his Discipline Pokemon still standing.

“Oh! The Torrent Ability! Alright!! Dewott! Use Aqua Jet once more! Give it your all!!”

With one final effort, Dewott  propelled itself in a jet of water with his scalchops out slicing the air infront of him. The unique grunt’s last Pokémon was annihilated by the strong retaliation of a Water Type attack.

Zubat had fainted along with all of its ally Pokémon in its corrupted trainer’s party. The unique pawn of Team Plasma was defeated.

“Zubat return! …. In the middle of my chorus too….”, she said to herself, miffed by her loss.

Nate and Rosa cheered at the conclusion of the difficult battle briefly before the theatrically dressed girl pulled out her Pokémon Medkit to immediately start healing Dewott and curing him of the poison he had been afflicted with along with Zorua and Riolu who could not return to their Poke Balls because of them belonging to a different person.

The after battle recovery did not last long as they were interrupted by the administrator of the grunt squad with a small squad of grunts guarding him as he approached the two. Nate looked up at Zinzolin with a look of hatred for what he feared would happen now that their team of Pokemon have been decimated by the unusual grunt.

Zinzolin turned to the electric guitar wielding grunt and thanked her.

“You did well Roxie. Now we may have our fugitive and his accomplice… if I had the device with me right now I would do the honor of taking care of you myself Nate, but I’m afraid since our last encounter, Colress has been far too busy to invent another such device made specifically for you. This place belongs to us now.”

“Think again gramps!!”, Hugh’s voice was heard from the theater doors.

Nate, Rosa, Zinzolin, and Roxie looked to see the stairway of the theater flooding with employees with their Pokémon ready to fight back any more Team Plasma attacks. Leading the group was Hugh along with Mister Stu Deeoh and a tall white jacketed man with a black and white ball cap and dark black jeans.

Nate and Rosa smiled and looked back at Zinzolin who was awestruck and wide eyed at the sudden proof of resistance from the civilians. Roxie was fearful of letting herself be seen by her dad in the crowd of angry defensive employees and visitors.

Zinzolin and his grunts could see a wide variety of opposing Pokémon facing in their direction. From Pansears to Klinks and Ledybas, they actually felt intimidated.

“My darlings! Are you all quite alright?”, Mister Stu Deeoh asked the theatrically dressed duo as they knelt beside Dewott, Riolu, and Zorua.

The two replied to the gold haired bald man positively.

“We’re fine. Riolu Kid and Zorua Girl never gives up!”, Rosa replied returning to her character for the fun of the moment.

Nate smiled back at Rosa as he replied to the owner of the studio.

“Yeah! Our Pokémon helped us beat the bad guys! You should all thank them!”

The man in the purple formal suit smiled at them as the sage in the purple elegant Team Plasma branded suit hissed at what he was hearing.

Hugh rushed up to him and hissed back at him hysterically with fury with his eyes wide and his nostrils flaring.

“THISSSS Place does not belong to you Plasma scum!! Get out of here or suffer our combined rage!!”

The tall black and white clothed ball cap wearing man with the pale skin and slightly shaved face walked beside Hugh as announced in a clear voice that sounded low and slightly monotone.

“Leave now and never come back. This place is now protected. Today belongs to the heroes.”

Zinzolin scoffed at him as he replied.

“You mean posers. They will not become obstacles in our mission! All of you will one day rue this day! Mark my words! Plasma! Head back to base!”

The sage pressed a button on a device hidden under his left sleeve on his left arm that instantly enveloped him in blue light before he was teleported out of the area. The Leader Recall device had safely teleported the sage back to the interior of the Plasma Frigate, leaving the grunts that escorted him confused before they started running away. Roxie stayed the moment the important employee looked at glared at her knowing she is in big trouble for aligning herself with Team Plasma.

“Haha! They’re running away!!”, one of the members of the mob of resisting civilians announced.

“Should we give chase?”, another one of the members asked.

“Bleh I don’t feel like running…”

Hugh, Mr. Stu Deeoh, and the important employee faced the masqueraded duo still kneeling on the ground around the recovering Pokémon. They watched Rosa and Nate smile at each other for their victory today against Unova’s bane. Their moment of joy suddenly stopped when Nate felt faint when his weakened heart stopped pumping the adrenaline that filled his body throughout the entire ordeal.  Everyone who surrounded him was shocked to see him stumble and nearly fall face flat on the pavement.

“Ah Nate! Are you okay?”, Rosa asked him with concern as she held him with her left hand on his yellow vested chest and her right hand  on his back.

The boy breathed slowly as he felt his heart pounding again. He smiled back at Rosa to reassure her that he’s fine.

“I’m just a little tired… I’m alright…”, he replied with a positive expression on his face.

He looked at her and their slightly recovered Pokémon who were also concerned with him. Dewott and Riolu both looked at him with curiosity for his health. Nate then looked at Hugh, Mister Stu Deeo, and the white jacketed man who were also was looking down at him with concern.

“I have an idea. Let’s celebrate with a lovely dinner party later tonight here in the studio! Everyone here is invited!”, Mister Stu Deeoh suggested with a happy tone in his voice.

The crowd cheered over Mister Stu Deeoh’s proposal. Nate shook his head as he said.

“We can’t stay long… we’re heading for Castelia City later.”

“That’s right. We were going to get the gym badge here but we probably won’t have time for that…”, Rosa added as she unhanded Nate’s chest and returned to treating Dewott with the contents in her Pokémon Medkit.

The white haired female grunt who stayed with her electric guitar walked to their side while trying not to look at the judging eyes of the crowd and the  people who stood around the duo. Roxie took out two badges from her pockets in her casual purple striped clothing from under her uniform and handed them to the hero and the heroine.

“Here… I’m sorry for my part in the attack.”

“Why did you do it Roxie? Why did you join Team Plasma?”, the white jacketed man asked the Poison Type gym leader.

Mister Stu Deeoh was disgruntled by the fact Roxie was part of the villainous group. Hugh was passively seething with rage towards the former gym leader.

“I wanted to raise enough money to take my band on a tour around Unova… I figured if I just worked with the Plasma punks for a little while as the only experienced gym leader on their team… and dad wouldn’t help me with my dream so I had to help myself! I just joined them yesterday… so I haven’t been paid yet.”

“Fine reason to join Team Plasma to destroy other people’s dreams isn’t it? You will be dealt with later by the authorities. You don’t deserve the responsibility of being Virbank City’s gym leader.”, the man replied with a serious tone.

Roxie looked down in shame as she took off her hat given to her by her Plasma superiors.

Nate and Rosa looked at each other feeling a little bit of sympathy for her, but nothing could be done for her. They kept their gym badges with them knowing they might be the last two people to have been given the gym badge from Roxie from now on.

Later that day after rebuilding and recovering what Team Plasma had destroyed in their attack, Nate and Rosa stood at Virbank City’s pier illuminated in the night by the city’s street lamps. The two were about to enter Pop Roxie’s boat to Castelia City when they were approached by two familiar memorable Pokémon from the studio.

“Riolu?”, Nate said seeing the blue Pokémon running to him.

“Zorua?”, Rosa added as she could see the dark furry Pokémon rushing to her.

The Emanations Pokémon jumped at the visor capped boy as the Tricky Fox Pokémon jumped at the visor capped girl. The duo held them as they both smiled at their studio partners.

From the city streets came forth the white jacketed man from the studio with his black and white ball cap unequipped to his head to reveal his brown fuzzy head of hair. He approached the two as he said.

“They wouldn’t keep still ever since you two left. They were fighting by your side against Team Plasma were they not?”, he asked the boy and the girl.

Nate nodded before he replied with another question to the man.

“Do you own these Pokémon?”

“Yes and no. I caught them and contributed them to the studio the day I joined the studio, but I never bonded with them in all the time we had spent together.”, the man replied looking at Riolu and Zorua staring back at him with uncertain expressions.

“Who are you anyway? What do you do in Pokestar Studios?”, Rosa asked the man of interest.

The man introduced himself as he stuck his hands in his pockets.

“I have a name, but people refer to me as the Script Writer of the studio… or just the Writer as is my codename. I am an agent of the International Police here in Unova with my superior who addresses himself as Looker as is his codename. Although I am on an important mission, I’ve been told to be stationed here in Virbank City to protect the people here from the returning Team Plasma’s influence. As I wait here for the words to come, I've taken the job of writing scripts and stories for the studio to use in their films. I wrote the characters for Riolu Kid and Zorua Girl based on Riolu and Zorua as you have clearly seen.”

The two were wide eyed and surprised at the revelation.

“You’re a secret police agent?”, the blue jacketed boy asked with a curious tone as he held Riolu in his arms.

“I am… but after this mission I will be retiring… to the point, do you want to keep Riolu and Zorua? Riolu seems to have developed a bond with you… strange considering how he would usually visit the theaters without ever making any friends with humans…. Maybe it even senses an unusual aura within you… as unlikely as it is for humans to possess such a thing, there may be a chance you have a hidden gift within you.”

“An aura?”, Nate asked with a curious tone as he felt Riolu struggle.

The Emanation Pokémon grunted as he slipped out of Nate’s arms and landed on the pavement on his legs. The Pokemon looked at Zorua who was comfortably held in Rosa’s arms before looking at the white jacketed man with a neutral expression. The man with the shaved beard looked at the blue Pokémon with a serious expression on his face.

“You… since you’re so keen on being with this boy. I’m leaving Zorua with the girl so that she can keep an eye on you for me… you will be travelling with this boy are you?”, the man asked the twintailed girl with the Poke Ball pattern on her white shirt with blue sleeves.

“Uh y-yes sir! I am a trainee nurse from Aspertia City and Nate is my first patient. I’m keeping him close to me as I go on my journey around the region with the Pokedex Professor Juniper has given to me through her aid. He’s my responsibility and…”

“Enough. I’ve heard enough. That’s fine. Take this.”, the man interrupted her before he gave her a Poke Ball.

“You too. Take this.”, the man said to Nate as he gave him a Poke Ball.

“You now have their respective Poke Balls. You are now the proud trainers of these Pokémon. Congratulations. I will return to enjoy the dinner party Mister Stu Deeoh and established before I begin making more stories for the filming studio. Should you ever come back, feel free to bring my stories to life on the big screen at anytime.”

The man bid them adieu before quickly walking back to Virbank City’s streets. Nate and Rosa looked at each other again thinking about what just happened.

“… We were just given our second Pokémon?”, she asked the fuzzy brown haired boy who was just as awestruck as she was.

“… All my life I had Dewott since he was an Oshowatt… I never had any other Pokémon until just now… wow.”, Nate replied as he looked at the blue Fighting type Pokémon smiling back at him.

Riolu barked before he happily jumped back into the boy’s arms. Nate laughed as he held the little blue Pokémon close to him.

“Welcome to our team!”

“Yeah! Welcome to our team! … but I’ll have to teach you to play right from now on Zorua.”, Rosa said to her new Pokémon as she snuggled her little furry body in her arms.

The two walked on to the boat and set sail for Castelia City’s port.

As they headed into the next phase of their journey, they returned their new Pokemon to their balls as they watched the beautiful view of the glowing city rising over the ocean between Virbank City and the city of sky scrapers. They stood on the front deck together as they silently watched the lights together before Rosa broke the silence.

“Honestly Nate…”

“Yes Rosa?”

“I was always scared of ever getting this far away from Aspertia City… I can’t believe we’re making it to Castelia City so soon. I’m a little bit scared right now…”

Nate looked at her face to see the lights of the city shimmering on her big blue eyes in the darkness of the night. Rosa looked back at him to see his smile and the reflective light of the city on the surface of his eyes as well.

“Don’t be… it’s just like you said earlier to me before we really messed with my ‘old friends’. We’ve got each other and we won’t be alone in our fight…”

Rosa smiled a little with her cheeks slightly red from what the feeling she was about to express.

“… I’m glad you’re here with me… I couldn’t imagine making it this far without you.”

Nate couldn’t stop smiling before he replied with something he came up at the top of his head.

“I guess… I couldn’t imagine living without you… literally! Hahaha! I’m sorry heheh… thank you.”

The girl with the pretty pink bow behind her neck giggled at his attempt at being funny. Referencing his near death situation half a week ago was not funny but he got points for trying to make her laugh and seem meaningful at the same time.

“Aww heh… you’re welcome.”, she replied as she placed her left hand on the rail of the deck closer to him.

Nate placed his right hand next to hers on the rail. He was tempted to place his hand on over hers if it weren’t for his natural fear of awkward rejection. The moment was still very beautiful for them none the less.

They stayed together throughout the night as they made their way through Castelia City’s streets around the piers to the Pokémon Center building where instead of looking for whatever the staff had ready for Nate to acquire for his health, the two immediately booked a room in the Pokémon Center building’s hotel area for passing trainers. They spent the rest of the night sleeping in their individual beds with each other in mind.
